Copenhagen, “merchant harbour”, was founded already in the 12th century, today a vibrant big city with a friendly and cosmopolitan atmosphere. A symbol of the city is the famous statue “the Little Mermaid”, sitting on a rock at the entrance to the harbour. Nyhavn is the most popular bar and restaurant area. The Amalienborg Palace is the residence of the Danish royal family and the Christianborg Palace is housing the Danish Parliament. In the Rosenborg Palace the crown jewels are exposed. Tivoli Garden offers a great variety of entertainment during summer time and a fantastic Christmas market in November and December every year.
