Departure from Gothenburg, we head southeast towards the home textiles district of Sweden. The first stop will be at flax factory and factory outlet shop in Horred. The owners of this flax factory have kept the production within the same family for ten generations, since the 17th century. A guided tour in the factory, will show modern technology of today’s flax production. This flax factory is a purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden. In the showroom beautiful flax products are exhibited and those are also for sale. The next visit will be at Rydal Textile Museum. The exhibition shows the local history of the textile industrial development. There are basic exhibitions in the museum, showing the textile industry development, as well as an exposition of the local history during the past 100 years. Several temporary exhibitions during the year. Next to the museum is a shop where you can buy local craft.
