Northern Lights tours” (Aurora Borealis)

Experience a fantastic light phenomenon, the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) in the night sky, which is created when charged particles from the sun collide with gases in the Earth’s atmosphere near the poles.

The Northern Lights can only be seen when it is dark, under a clear sky, and form a spectacular moving phenomenon in different colors.

The best opportunity to experience this strange light phenomenon is north of the Arctic Circle, especially in the areas around Tromsö in Norway and in Abisko, near Kiruna in Sweden, as well as Rovaniemi in Finland. At Svalbard and Greenland there are also good opportunities to experience the Northern Lights.

The Northern Lights are best seen from late August to April.

Midnight Sun Tour

The “Midnight sun” is a natural phenomenon in summer where the sun never sets below the horizon in areas north of the Artic Circle.

Best places to experience this is for example in Abisko, west of Kiruna in Sweden; Tromso in Norway, north of Rovaniemi in Finland, Longyearbyen at Svalbard and Nuuk area on Greenland.

Elk Safari

Approximately 300.000 elks are living in the deep forests of Sweden. A good chance to see“the King of the forest” is at the Royal elk hunting area at Halleberg and Hunneberg, about 90 km north of Gothenburg. Elk safaris are arranged during the summer time.

Bird watching

Migration birds have their favorite places, where they stop on their way from I to south Europe or north Africa and the Nordic countries. One of the most spectacular migration bird stop is at the Lake Homborgsjon in west Sweden. In March and April every year thousands of cranes do their “mating dance performance” here.

Bear Safari

Brown Bears are found in the central and northern part of Sweden. The total number is approximately 2500. You have the possibility to join an experienced wild life guide, who will take you to a hiding-place in the forest, from where you can watch the bears in real life. Brown bears are also living in the north and eastern part of Finland, where it’s possible to make brown bear safaries.

Beaver Safari

The beaver was exterminated in Sweden around 1870. In the 1920’s it was reintroduced, and today there is about 100.000 beavers in the country. It is the biggest rodent in the Nordic countries and it’s amazing to see their great settlement constructions made of twigs.

Fishing TOURS

Sweden’s 7000 km of coastline and 100.000 lakes offer great fishing possibilities at reasonable prices.

Try your fishing luck at the Skagerack Sea (inner part of the North Sea). A smaller, modern fishing boat, for maximum 12 passengers, will take you to the best fishing places at sea. A fishing tour takes about 5 – 6 hours. This tour is weather dependent, but can normally run every day from May to September. Departure from several fishing villages northwest of Gothenburg. Also North Norway, Iceland and Aland archipelago offer great fishing opportunities.

Lobster and cray fish safari

Join a real fisherman on his small fishing boat for lobster fishing or cray fish fishing: Departure from several fishing villages northwest of Gothenburg. Fishing season for lobsters is from the last week in September until the end of November. Cray fish can be fished all year round at the Swedish west coast.

Oyster safari

Experience how probably the best oysters in the world are picked up from the bottom of the sea off Grebbestad and Fjallbacka, in Sweden!

Hunting

The wilderness in Sweden offers great hunting possibilities. We assist you with the permission: you need for hunting of elks, deer, small game etc.

The big four of Scandinavia

Meet “The big four” of Scandinavia in the wilderness of province Varmland, Sweden. At the Predator Centre in Rada, you will learn more about the bears, lynx, wolves and wolverines habitat.

Excursions in the wilderness to locate their territory, looking for traces and droppings, and maybe see one of “the big 4”!

Whale safari – Norway, 4 days

Every autumn the world’s largest shoals of herring migrate into Vestfjord in north Norway to spend the winter. In their wake, some of the world’s largest congregations of killer whales follow. At most, there are more than 600 killer whales concentrated within a relatively small area of the Vestfjord. From our boats you will be able to observe the lords of the sea at close range. In groups of from 5-10, the killer whales hunt in a team – a fantastic show in incredibly beautiful surroundings. You have also good opportunities to get encountered to the Sami culture in the area. You will also find good opportunities to see whales on a whale safari in Iceland and Greenland.

Musik Festivals –

Dalhalla

In a former limestone quarry, one of the world’s most fantastic open air festival stage has been created. Dalhalla is located just a few hours drive from Stockholm. The program with different concerts, operas folk music and choirs, starts at the end of May and runs to the end of August. Ask us for a detailed program. Pilgrimage tours

Do you want to walk in the footsteps of medieval pilgrims? There are many hiking trails in the Nordic countries, adapted for modern pilgrims, that offer contemplation combined with beautiful nature experiences. One of the most famous is the Sankt Olavsleden, which leads to the thousand-year-old cathedral in Trondheim in Norway. In Sweden, the Sankta Birgitta Pilgrimage Trail leads to the pilgrim center in Vadstena. The Haervejen in Denmark and the St. Olav Waterway in Finland are other examples of popular pilgrimage trails.

World of Astrid Lindgren

The World of Astrid Lindgren in Vimmerby is open daily from middle of May to the end of August. Every day there are performances by the well-known characters from her books. Meet Pippi Longstocking, Emil, Ronja the robber-daughter, Karlsson on the roof and many more.

Mumin World

Walk through the Mumin World, 16 km from Turku in Finland, and meet the famous characters from the well-known books written by Tove Jansson. Say hello to the Mumin troll, Little My, Muminmamma, Mumlnpappa, etc. Plays at Theatre Emma, every day, throughout the season from beginning of June until end of August.

Sami culture park

Sami culture park in Karajok, northern Norway, presents the Sami culture and history in an engaging, teaching and entertaining way. In Karajok is also the Sami Parliament located. It is the very first parliament in the world for an indigenous people.

Christmas Markets

Christmas Markets are arranged at many places. Some of the biggest and most popular are the ones at Liseberg Amusement Park in Gothenburg, Tivoli in Copenhagen and at Skansen Open Air Museum in Stockholm.

Food Culture

The National Swedish Cook team has won some very prestigious awards, for example: Bocuse d’Or, 2025: The Swedish team won the bronze medal at this world championship in Lyon.

Swedish cuisine is listed among the top in the world.

This example of gourmet tour starts and ends in Gothenburg. Gothenburg has several gourmet restaurants listed in the Guide Rouge de Michelin. We have chosen some of the most special, elegant and century-old inns, with the best cuisines.

About one hour drive from Gothenburg is the Ronnum Manor, where we assure you a culinary delight. A visit here can be combined with a moose safari at the Royal Elk Hunting area at Halleberg and Hunneberg.

Tanums Gestgiferi / Inn has an elegant setting dating back to the 17th century. The chef de cuisine has won acclaim far beyond Sweden’s borders for the gourmet cuisine. Just a few km from this inn is the Bronze Age Rock carvings located, today a site on the UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Here you can have a taste of Bronze Age food.

Grythyttan Inn will give you a culinary experience out of the ordinary. The inn has a long tradition, founded in 1640. The wine cellar has become a magnet for Sweden’s wine connoisseurs. wine tasting course recommended! Cook training courses are also arranged at the cook academy in Grythyttan. At the shore of Lake Vattem is Vadstena Klosterhotell located, in the previous St Bridget nunnery. The restaurant adjoins another magnificent building, where you enjoy an excellent dinner.

Visit a Swedish vineyard and taste the wine!

There are more than 40 wineries in southern Sweden. One example is Astad winery, 1 hour 20 minutes drive south of Gothenburg. Here you can also enjoy a gourmet dinner and SPA, in a scenic environment.

Liseberg Amusement Park

Liseberg in Gothenburg offers great fun for the whole family. There are more than 40 fun rides and music performances for all ages, as well as many nice restaurants and cafes. The park is open from middle of April to end of September every year. A spectacular Christmas Market is arranged form middle of November to the end of December.

Grona Lund Amusement Park

Stockholm has also a favorite amusement park, Grona Lund. Open from end of April to middle of September every year.

Tivoli

Tivoli in Copenhagen is the oldest Amusement Park in the world, and probably one of the best known. The park offers many fun rides, good restaurants and concerts, suitable for all ages. Christmas Market is arranged in November and December every year.

Legoland

Legoland, in Billund, Denmark: Use your creativity and have fun! Discover kid-powered rides, cool building challenges, a unique mix of interactive attractions and much more! There are more than 50 rides, shows and attractions to choose from. Open from middle of May to end of September every year.

Heureka Science Centre

Heureka Science Centre in Vantta, close to Helsinki. Has its core ideology to bring the joy of discovery, to everyone, to produce inspiring learning experiences and to value science, innovation and quality.

Tom Tits Experiment

Tom Tits Experiment in Sodertalje, about 30 km south of Stockholm. This is Sweden’s largest science centre. More than 200 experiments are giving the visitor a unique insight into the science world.

Tusenfryd

Amusement Park in Oslo is ‘iusenfryd, approx. 20 km from the centre of Oslo. More than 30 fun rides to enjoy.

Linnanmaki amusement park

Amusement Park in Helsinki is Linnanmaki amusement park. The park is open during summer time and offers great fun to everyone, with more than 30 fun rides.

Zoos

Kolmarden’s Zoo

About 150 km south of Stockholm, is the biggest one in Scandinavia, and one of Sweden’s most popular tourist destinations. There are approximately 700 animals in Kolmardens Djurpark, representing 50 different species. This makes Kolmardens Djurpark the largest zoo in the Nordic region. Kolmarden participates in national and international conservation programs for animal parks.

Boras Zoo

Boras Zoo is located about 60 km east of Gothenburg, is one of the biggest in Sweden. The zoo works according to the conservation strategy to preserve endangered species, both in zoos and in the wild.

The Nordic Ark

About 1,5 hour drive north of Gothenburg, is the Nordic Ark located, which is not an ordinary zoo. The aim is to provide a future for endangered species through breeding programs, reintroduction programs, research and information.

Scania Zoo

In Hoor, focuses on the Nordic fauna. The zoo is part of the European cooperation to preserve endangered species. There are 90 different species of Nordic animals living in this zoo. Open every day all the year round.

The Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park (Kristiansand Dyrepark)

is actually five separate parks, including a water park (bring bathing suits and towels); a forested park; an entertainment park; a theme park; and a zoo. It is situated 11 km east of Kristiansand, south Norway. The park is one of Norway’s most frequently visited attraction, covering an area of 150 acres (607,000 m’). In the zoo you will find for example: wolves, lynxes, wolverines, tigers, chimpanzees, lions, and orangutans. The animals have wide open spaces in which to roam. Open all year round.

Jarvzoo

The Jarvzoo contains the “big 4” wild Scandinavian animals: wolf, bear, lynx and wolverine. Among other animals you find reindeer, musk ox, goshawk, honey buzzard, golden eagle, artic fox, long-eared owl, snowy owl, hawk owl, moose and cranes. The zoo is easy accessible for everyone, as you walk along a 3 km long wooden bridge, through the park.In Helsinki the zoo is located on the Korkeasaari I Hogholmen island, easy reachable by a 15 minutes ferry ride from city centre, during summer time. At Helsinki Zoo you meet animals at the way from the arctic tundra to the tropical rainforest. Approximately 200 different animal species reside in the Zoo. Protecting endangered species is a heartfelt matter for the Zoo.

Astrid Lindgren

The famous children book author, Astrid Lindgren, was born 1907, at the farm Nas, close to the picturesque small town Vimmerby. A museum, as well as a theme park, “The world of Astrid Lindgren”, are welcoming everyone who would like to learn more about this remarkable woman and her fairy tale characters. Make a round trip and visit some of the places, she has written about in her books.

Carl Von Linné

The world famous botanist Carl Linneaus, was born 1707 in Rashult, south Sweden. He is known as the “father of modem taxonomy,” the science of finding, describing and categorising organisms. He gave a two-part name to every known specie in the natural world. He is also considered one of the fathers of modern ecology. At Rashult visitors center you can find out more about this remarkable man. The area is reconstructed as it probably looked like in the beginning of the 18th century. Carl Linneaus studied at the university in Uppsala, where he later became a professor. He traveled a lot around Sweden. Detective chief inspector Wallander in Ystad

Henning Mankell has written some very popular detective novels about detective chief inspector Kurt Wallander of Ystad police.
