Reykjavik
Reykjavik is the world’s northernmost capital and home to nearly half of Iceland’s population. The city is believed to be the site of Iceland’s first permanent settlement around the year 870, when Norwegian Vikings arrived. Reykjavik was officially founded as a trading town in 1786 and has grown steadily ever since.
